I always thought that any vehicle that picked people up was a taxi…. But no!
A taxi is only vehicles with a Taxi Sign on top of the vehicle and taxi info around them on some vehicles. Also well known taxis are black cabs.
I on the other hand am known as a private hire vehicle. The likes of Uber are known as private hire vehicles and are not called taxis. Any vehicle without the taxi light or taxi signs is classed as a private hire vehicle.
I hope that has been interesting knowledge for everyone as I was shocked when I found out.
